We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for full-time, permanent opportunities in Western Australia with an established engineering and maintenance operation. The position is suited to tradespeople with a strong background in mechanical maintenance who are confident working with industrial machinery, fixed plant, mobile equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical refurbishment. You’ll be joining a structured professional environment where practical experience is valued, safety is taken seriously and there is scope to develop your career beyond hands-on trade work.
Requirements
- • Carry out mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul of industrial machinery
- • Fit, assemble and install mechanical components and equipment
- • Maintain fixed plant and mobile equipment in workshop and site environments
- • Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- • Determine appropriate materials, equipment and work methods for assigned tasks
- • Dismantle machinery and inspect components for damage, wear and defects
- • Refurbish and rebuild mechanical equipment to required standards
- • Use measuring equipment to check component dimensions, tolerances, alignment and fit
- • Perform cutting, grinding, pressing and metal-forming activities
- • Install, maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic pipework and systems
- • Carry out threading, bending, cutting and related pipework tasks
- • Diagnose mechanical problems and conduct fault-finding on industrial machinery
- • Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown repair activities
- • Support equipment upgrades, refurbishment programs and capital works
- • Identify potential mechanical issues and communicate maintenance requirements
- • Maintain appropriate records relating to inspections, repairs and maintenance
- • Work cooperatively with tradespeople, supervisors and client-site personnel
- • Maintain consistent quality, accuracy and reliability in all mechanical work
- • Follow workplace safety, environmental and operational procedures
- • Contribute positively to a Zero Harm workplace culture
