Job description
A Perth coach and bus operator needs a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to keep its fleet on the road.
The role is based in Perth, WA, with some work at other WA locations from time to time. Pay starts from $55 per hour. Full-time and casual work are both on offer, and shifts are agreed at interview.
You will service, modify, diagnose and repair buses and coaches. Bus or coach time helps but is not a must. The business behind the fleet is a family-run transport and tourism company in Western Australia.

Key responsibilities
- Service, diagnose and repair heavy vehicles, plus install and fix mechanical parts
- Inspect and maintain the fleet to company standards
- Keep fleet and repair records in line with manufacturer specs and the WA omnibus vehicle maintenance program
- Help look after monitoring gear: wifi, GPS tracking, comms, CCTV and sensors
- Update service records online, handle general workshop upkeep and test drive vehicles as needed
Requirements
- Heavy commercial vehicle mechanical trade qualification or similar
- Heavy diesel vehicle experience (buses and coaches preferred, not essential)
- Strong diagnostics
- Grasp of WA transport compliance requirements
- Current Australian working rights
- Current driver's licence (HR class highly regarded)
- Working at heights certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Relevant high risk work licences, or willingness to obtain them
