Job description

An established FMCG manufacturing operation in Western Australia is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its permanent maintenance team. This role is suited to a mechanical professional who has worked with production machinery and understands the importance of preventing failures rather than simply repairing them after they occur. You will have the opportunity to apply your fitting and maintenance skills across a range of plant and equipment while contributing to production reliability and workplace safety. Requirements
- • Complete planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and fixed plant
- • Carry out breakdown maintenance and mechanical repairs when required
- • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical equipment
- • Identify early warning signs and address potential equipment failures
- • Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings and pneumatic systems
- • Perform inspections and scheduled servicing of production equipment
- • Assist with machinery changeovers and equipment adjustments
- • Support machinery upgrades, modifications and improvement projects
- • Investigate repeated equipment failures and assist with permanent solutions
- • Help minimise production downtime through effective maintenance practices
- • Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records
- • Communicate effectively with production and maintenance personnel
- • Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable operating condition
- • Follow WHS, food safety, hygiene and site procedures
- • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
