We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a demonstrated background in civil infrastructure to join an established construction team in Queensland (QLD). This role is suited to an experienced engineer who can combine technical knowledge with practical project delivery, commercial awareness and strong site coordination. Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities throughout project delivery
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to achieve project safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives
  • Ensure construction works meet approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements and project timeframes
  • Develop, monitor and update construction plans and project programs
  • Provide practical engineering advice and technical support to site teams
  • Interpret civil, structural and services drawings and identify project requirements
  • Prepare, manage and close technical queries with relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with procurement and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance, costs and project deliverables
  • Coordinate construction sequencing and ensure activities remain aligned with project schedules
  • Monitor quality performance and ensure required quality control processes are implemented
  • Track project expenditure and assist with budget and cost management
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and cost-to-complete forecasts
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify construction risks and potential delays
  • Assist with resolving technical, commercial and operational project issues
  • Maintain effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure construction activities are undertaken safely

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in a civil engineering role
  • Demonstrated experience working on civil infrastructure or major construction projects
  • Proven ability to interpret civil, structural and services drawings
  • Experience managing technical queries and engineering challenges
  • Strong knowledge of construction planning, programming and sequencing
  • Experience managing subcontractor and supplier budgets
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems
  • Strong project coordination and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Ability to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
  • Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
  • Sponsorship available for suitably qualified and experienced candidates
