Key responsibilities

  • Perform roofing installation work across commercial construction projects
  • Prepare, measure and cut roofing materials to suit project requirements
  • Install edge, ridge and associated roof flashings
  • Measure and modify roofing materials around vents and roof penetrations
  • Prepare roof surfaces and install waterproofing materials around eaves
  • Install and secure roofing underlay using appropriate fixing methods
  • Position starter sheets accurately along roof edges
  • Install successive roofing sheets with correct alignment and overlap
  • Secure roofing materials using suitable screws, nails and fasteners
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and site information
  • Assess project requirements and identify appropriate materials
  • Work with modern commercial roofing and cladding products
  • Maintain accurate installation standards and quality finishes
  • Identify potential hazards before and during roofing activities
  • Follow site-specific health and safety procedures
  • Use tools, equipment and materials safely and efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other trades
  • Support the successful delivery of projects within required timeframes
  • Travel to project sites when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe and professional working area

Requirements

  • Demonstrable roofing experience or relevant construction experience
  • Experienced Roofers are encouraged to apply for overseas opportunities
  • Commercial roofing experience is highly regarded
  • Cladding or related building-envelope experience is advantageous
  • Transferable construction skills may be considered for suitable applicants
  • Ability to accurately measure and cut roofing materials
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications
  • Practical understanding of construction site safety
  • Strong hands-on and problem-solving abilities
  • High standard of attention to detail
  • Commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
