Job description
A Brisbane telco contractor needs a field engineer to lead RF and Tx integration and carrier acceptance on sites around Australia.
The job is Telecommunications Field Engineer, full-time, based in Brisbane, QLD, at $85,000 - $100,000 per year. It is direct employment, not labour hire, and sits under ANZSCO 313212. The business is Australian-owned and handles rigging, civil works, RF and transmission integration, and structure upgrades and decommissioning for carriers and prime contractors.
Expect greenfield builds and brownfield co-locations. Travel is national, to remote and metro sites. Rigging tickets and structural skills count as much as RF experience.

Key responsibilities
- Integrate RF and Tx gear on greenfield sites and brownfield co-locations
- Commission each site and take it to carrier acceptance
- Build acceptance packs that pass the carrier standard
- Mount and commission antennas and RUs
- Install feeders, microwave dishes and outdoor cabinets and get them working
- Back up riggers on face frames, extensions and upgrades when asked
- Keep sites safe via the company or client HSE system (SWMS, permits, rescue plans, exclusion zones); travel to metro and remote sites
Requirements
- Telco Field Engineer track record (proven) in RF/Tx integration, commissioning and carrier acceptance packs
- Rigging ticket: Advanced or Intermediate
- EWP, First Aid and Working at Heights, current
- Structural steelwork on telco towers, hands-on
- Fine with remote travel and mobilising at short notice
- Open QLD driver's licence
- Preferred: MR/HR and other tickets
