Job description
We are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics for a verified employment opportunity in Western Australia. This position is aimed at skilled tradespeople whose identity, qualifications and relevant work experience can be confidently validated before progressing through the recruitment process. The role provides a varied field-based workload, with opportunities to work on heavy equipment across demanding operational environments. From fault diagnostics and breakdown response to scheduled maintenance, shutdown support and equipment movements, no two days are exactly the same.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out field-based repairs, servicing and maintenance on heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete effective repair solutions
- Respond to breakdowns and provide timely technical support
- Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Assist with shutdown activities and equipment movement projects
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, faults and maintenance requirements
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship
- Manage assigned jobs and complete work within required timeframes
- Prepare accurate maintenance records, reports and service documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, site representatives and team members
- Follow established safety procedures and site requirements
- Contribute to a positive, reliable and collaborative work environment
Requirements
- Recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification or equivalent relevant qualification
- Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining heavy mobile equipment
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with major OEM machinery is highly regarded
- Ability to work effectively in a field service environment
- Valid driver's licence or the ability to meet role-specific licensing requirements
- High Risk Work Licence for LF and/or WP is advantageous
- Ability to meet required pre-employment medical standards
- Ability to complete drug and alcohol screening where required
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Willingness and ability to verify professional identity, qualifications and relevant employment history
