Requirements

  • • Assess vehicle condition and identify mechanical faults through systematic diagnosis
  • • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs across a range of vehicles
  • • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and related mechanical components
  • • Use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools effectively to identify faults and complete repairs
  • • Inspect completed work to ensure vehicles meet expected safety and performance standards
  • • Apply practical mechanical knowledge to resolve complex vehicle issues
  • • Maintain accurate attention to repair quality, safety, and technical standards
  • • Operate workshop equipment safely and report equipment or workplace issues when required
  • • Support apprentices and junior technicians by sharing practical knowledge and correct repair procedures
  • • Maintain an organised, safe, and professional workshop environment
  • • Work independently when required while contributing positively to the wider workshop team
  • • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a consistent commitment to quality workmanship
