Job description
A verified engineering and maintenance opportunity is available in Western Australia for a qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker Welder). This full-time position provides exposure to a varied range of fabrication, assembly, maintenance and repair work involving fixed and mobile plant equipment. The successful candidate will join a professional working environment where technical capability, safety and reliability are highly valued.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Plan and prepare fabrication work
- Measure and mark out materials
- Cut, bend and shape metal components
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components
- Perform welding and finishing work
- Carry out plant repairs and maintenance
- Support fixed plant and mobile plant maintenance activities
- Respond to equipment breakdowns
- Complete field-based repair and fabrication work
- Undertake workshop fabrication and assembly
- Conduct quality inspections of completed work
- Ensure fabricated components meet required specifications
- Operate fabrication machinery and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance of workshop machinery
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping
Requirements
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate III or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience as a Metal Fabricator
- Boilermaker/Welder experience
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- National Police Certificate
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical
- Ability to successfully complete drug and alcohol screening
- Current Construction White Card
- Working at Heights certification less than 2 years old
- Confined Space certification less than 2 years old
- Valid Australian Driver Licence
- Strong safety focus and commitment to quality
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work across workshop and site environments
- Australian citizens, permanent residents and relevant visa holders welcome
