We are seeking experienced Panel Beaters for a genuine automotive repair opportunity in Clyde, Sydney NSW. Key responsibilities

  • Review repair instructions and job sheets before commencing work
  • Inspect vehicle damage and identify required repair procedures
  • Check replacement parts to confirm they are correct and free from defects
  • Remove damaged panels, frames and related vehicle components
  • Repair or replace vehicle body panels and structural sections
  • Carry out metal shaping, straightening, cutting and welding work
  • Complete fabrication work using appropriate repair methods and workshop equipment
  • Perform rust treatment and prepare affected areas for repair
  • Carry out frame alignment and structural repair work where required
  • Apply body filler and complete sanding and surface preparation
  • Disassemble vehicles carefully before repair work
  • Reassemble vehicles accurately after repairs are completed
  • Ensure all work is completed to required quality and industry standards
  • Handle all customer and company vehicles with care and professionalism
  • Use workshop tools and equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition
  • Keep the work area clean, organised and safe
  • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements, including PPE procedures
  • Work closely with other workshop team members
  • Maintain awareness of current repair techniques and industry developments

Requirements

  • Relevant Panel Beater trade qualification or substantial equivalent industry experience
  • Proven practical experience in automotive panel beating and smash repairs
  • Ability to provide clear evidence of professional identity and relevant work history
  • Experience repairing and replacing damaged vehicle body panels
  • Strong skills in metal shaping, cutting, welding and fabrication
  • Knowledge of vehicle structural repairs and frame alignment
  • Experience with rust treatment and repair preparation
  • Competency in body filler application, sanding and surface preparation
  • Ability to accurately disassemble and reassemble vehicle components
  • High level of attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to use automotive workshop tools and equipment safely
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Reliable, motivated and professional approach to work
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and maintaining an organised work environment
