Key responsibilities
- Deliver quality haircuts for men, women and children
- Create and maintain traditional, modern and contemporary hairstyles
- Consult with customers to understand their preferred style and grooming needs
- Provide beard trimming, shaping and styling services
- Perform wet shaves where appropriately trained
- Ensure accurate cutting, styling and finishing on every service
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Provide friendly, professional and personalised customer service
- Build positive relationships with new and returning clients
- Recommend suitable hair care and grooming products
- Maintain clean, hygienic and organised work areas
- Care for barbering tools and equipment appropriately
- Follow workplace health, safety and hygiene requirements
- Work effectively with other barbers, hairdressers and team members
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture
Requirements
- Relevant Barbering or Hairdressing qualification preferred
- Demonstrated practical experience in a barbershop or salon
- Strong skills across traditional and contemporary haircutting
- Ability to understand and respond to different customer requirements
- Good knowledge of professional barbering and hairdressing practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Friendly, confident and professional manner
- High standard of personal presentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop new techniques
- Beard grooming and shaving skills are advantageous
- Apprentices with relevant practical training may be considered
- Ability to provide genuine and verifiable employment history and qualifications
- Candidates must satisfy applicable Australian employment requirements
- Candidates seeking sponsorship must meet relevant visa requirements
- Onshore candidates are preferred
