Job description

A well-established hospitality venue in the Australian Capital Territory is seeking 2 experienced Chefs/Cooks to join its kitchen team. This opportunity is designed for professionals who can back their culinary experience with genuine, verifiable qualifications and hands-on capability. The successful candidates will be trusted to contribute directly to a quality-driven kitchen, preparing European and modern Australian dishes while maintaining the consistency expected in a fine-dining environment. The role suits an all-rounder who takes pride in their work, understands kitchen discipline and can confidently manage a section during service. Candidates will work five days per week, including evenings, weekends and split shifts.

Requirements

• • Prepare and cook European and modern Australian cuisine
• • Deliver dishes that meet high standards of taste, quality and presentation
• • Take responsibility for an allocated section of the kitchen
• • Carry out daily mise en place and food preparation
• • Maintain consistent portion control and presentation standards
• • Work efficiently during busy restaurant services
• • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth service
• • Monitor ingredient usage and reduce avoidable food wastage
• • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures
• • Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen workstation
• • Assist with wider kitchen duties when required
• • Work effectively across evening, weekend and split-shift rosters
• • Demonstrate reliable and consistent hands-on cooking performance
