A heritage waterfront hotel in Northland wants Chef de Partie cooks for its kitchen.

The job is permanent and full-time at 30 hours a week, with pay from $32 per hour. It suits a section cook who likes fresh, seasonal menus and steady results. The team is supportive and professional.

You run a station, keep stock topped up and send every part of the plate out right and on time. People with New Zealand work eligibility get preference, though sponsorship may be considered.

Key responsibilities

  • Know every menu, function and daily special
  • Pitch dish ideas and new menu items when invited
  • Have your station set for daily service, functions and specials
  • Keep stock at the right level and quality
  • Tell the Head or Sous Chef about any gaps
  • Cook each component properly and get it out on time, to standard
  • Stick to recipes and the Food Control Plan; keep prep and service areas clean
  • Prep raw ingredients and stock to match demand, with minimal waste
  • Help junior cooks do their jobs right and report maintenance faults
