Key responsibilities
- Run busy lunch and dinner services, alone or with the team
- Train kitchen staff and apprentices in cooking methods and menu prep
- Keep prep, plating and hygiene within New Zealand food safety rules
- Suggest new dishes and help build the menu
- Control stock, cut waste, keep costs lean, and talk clearly with customers and staff so the team stays positive
Requirements
- At least 2 years as a chef or higher in a commercial kitchen
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Works fast under pressure without letting quality slip
- Flexible for mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Committed to long-term employment
