Job description
A central Christchurch restaurant is hiring four experienced Waitstaff for full-time floor work.
The venue has a Mexican theme and a lively crew. Pay runs from $25 to $29 an hour, depending on experience. Hours are full-time, 30 a week minimum, with nights, weekends and the busy summer included.
It is an accredited employer, which means AEWV sponsorship is possible, and it can assist with the immigration process if required.
Day to day you greet guests, take orders, run food and drinks, reset tables, use the POS, take payments and follow liquor rules. Regular in-house training is part of the job.

Key responsibilities
- Greet guests and explain the menu
- Take orders and run food and drinks to tables
- Clear and reset tables and keep the floor clean
- Put orders through the POS and take card or cash payments
- Apply New Zealand liquor laws with management
- Upsell products, services and specials
- Complete regular in-house training modules
- Serve in line with the restaurant's selling system
Requirements
- At least six months in a similar role, or a Level 2 or 3 Diploma qualification
- Good knowledge of New Zealand liquor laws
- Open to nights, weekends and the busy summer months, and motivated to work hard in a fast-paced role while learning the restaurant's offerings and service standards
