Job description
A respected hospitality business in Western Australia is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is an opportunity for a skilled professional to take an active role in a busy kitchen, producing quality food while supporting efficient operations and maintaining excellent standards. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial kitchen experience and the ability to perform confidently in a high-volume environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take an active role in the day-to-day operation of the commercial kitchen
- Prepare, cook and present meals in line with established quality standards
- Ensure food is prepared efficiently and delivered within service timeframes
- Use a variety of ingredients effectively across a diverse menu
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality and presentation
- Assist with the development and updating of seasonal menus
- Manage stock rotation and storage appropriately
- Identify opportunities to reduce food wastage
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Assist with staff selection, training and development
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Contribute to a positive, professional and supportive workplace
Requirements
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- Demonstrated experience in a busy hospitality environment
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent relevant qualification
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Availability to work full-time hospitality hours
- Eligible candidates may be offered sponsorship
