An established Queensland restaurant is seeking a Qualified Chef with demonstrated commercial kitchen experience to join its culinary team. This role offers the chance to have your existing skills and qualifications put into practice within a high-standard dining environment. You’ll be exposed to traditional Italian and Roman cuisine, handmade pasta and quality local and international produce while working alongside experienced hospitality professionals. For candidates with a well-established professional background, this is an opportunity to take those capabilities into the Australian hospitality industry, contribute from day one and continue developing through hands-on experience.

Requirements

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
• Maintain consistent food quality, flavour and presentation
• Complete mise en place and daily kitchen preparation
• Prepare traditional Italian and Roman-style cuisine
• Apply classical cooking techniques throughout food preparation
• Assist with handmade pasta and other fresh menu preparations
• Manage preparation requirements efficiently before service
• Maintain portion control and presentation standards
• Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures
• Keep kitchen work areas clean, organised and ready for service
• Work efficiently during busy and high-volume periods
• Coordinate effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff
• Assist with stock preparation and general kitchen organisation
• Support smooth lunch and dinner service operations
• Contribute to a professional, respectful and team-oriented workplace
