Job description

We are seeking a Cook / Chef to join a professional Italian kitchen team in New South Wales. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a credible career in hospitality by demonstrating what they can genuinely do, rather than relying solely on titles or qualifications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop authentic Italian cooking skills, learn professional kitchen techniques and work alongside experienced chefs. A strong attitude, reliability and willingness to improve are highly valued. Candidates will be assessed on the authenticity of their experience, practical capabilities and suitability for the role.

Requirements

• • Prepare and cook Italian cuisine to required quality standards
• • Assist with pasta, sauces and traditional Italian food preparation
• • Complete daily preparation and mise en place
• • Follow recipes, cooking techniques and presentation guidelines
• • Maintain food quality, consistency and portion standards
• • Assist with kitchen service and daily operations
• • Work under the direction of senior culinary staff
• • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and workplace cleanliness
• • Keep preparation areas organised and properly maintained
• • Follow food safety and workplace health and safety procedures
• • Work cooperatively with the wider kitchen team
• • Apply feedback and develop cooking techniques through practical training
• • Maintain professional standards during busy service periods
• • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and commitment to assigned duties
