Job description
A busy izakaya-style restaurant and bar in Perth needs a Japanese chef and cook who can turn out sushi and fusion dishes at speed.
The facts first. Full-time and salaried, paying $60,000 to $79,000 a year. Split shifts, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, then 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. A new venue in a large shopping centre. High-volume service. You also help with menu ideas and quality checks.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare sushi plus Japanese and fusion plates for lunch and dinner
- Switch between the sushi bar and all-round kitchen work when needed
- Help build the menu and keep quality consistent
- Keep standards high at volume and talk clearly with the team during service
Requirements
- At least 1 year in a Japanese restaurant
- Sushi chef, all-rounder chef or cook experience
- Strong grasp of Japanese food
- Strong grasp of fusion cuisine
- Can support menu development and quality control
- High-end, high-volume restaurant experience
- Responsible, a team player and an excellent communicator
