Job description

This opportunity is designed for experienced culinary professionals whose practical skills, commercial kitchen background, and ability to maintain high standards can be demonstrated and verified. We are seeking a Chef de Partie to become part of the opening team for a premium Italian-inspired dining operation in New Zealand. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a dedicated section while helping establish efficient kitchen practices from the outset. You will work with seasonal produce and contribute to a menu centred around fresh pasta, pizzettas, and Italian-inspired dishes. Strong preparation, timing, consistency, food safety, and teamwork will be essential to success. Candidates with suitable overseas experience may also be considered for employer-supported sponsorship, subject to meeting New Zealand's Accredited Employer Work Visa requirements.
Requirements
- • Take responsibility for the preparation and operation of an allocated kitchen section
- • Deliver dishes consistently in accordance with recipes, quality requirements, and presentation standards
- • Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place before service
- • Assist with fresh pasta production and traditional dough preparation
- • Maintain food quality, portion control, presentation, and service timing
- • Manage section requirements effectively during busy kitchen services
- • Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory management, and food cost procedures
- • Maintain compliance with New Zealand food safety and hygiene standards
- • Keep all preparation and work areas clean, organised, and service-ready
- • Communicate effectively with senior chefs and other kitchen team members
- • Support the implementation of professional kitchen systems and procedures
- • Contribute to a disciplined, collaborative, and high-performing kitchen environment
