Job description
Not every Maintenance Fitter has the specialist knowledge required to keep sophisticated thermoforming equipment performing at its best. This opportunity is designed for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who can demonstrate genuine hands-on expertise with thermoforming and automated packaging machinery. Our client is seeking a technically capable tradesperson to support a modern food manufacturing operation in Western Australia, where equipment reliability, accurate fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance are critical to maintaining production. The ideal candidate will understand the complete thermoforming process, from heating and forming through to sealing, cutting, vacuum systems and automated product handling. MULTIVAC experience, particularly with R-Series equipment, will be highly regarded. Rather than relying solely on qualifications or job titles, the selection process will focus on relevant experience, practical capability and demonstrated technical knowledge.
Requirements
- • Maintain thermoforming and automated packaging machinery
- • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities
- • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out breakdown repairs
- • Identify the underlying causes of recurring equipment failures
- • Troubleshoot forming, heating, sealing and cutting systems
- • Maintain vacuum and compressed air systems
- • Work with servo-driven machinery and automated equipment
- • Maintain film feeding and tension control systems
- • Support MAP and vacuum packaging operations
- • Carry out tooling changes and machine adjustments
- • Assist with production changeovers and equipment optimisation
- • Monitor machinery performance and identify potential reliability issues
- • Work with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime
- • Implement practical improvements to equipment reliability
- • Assist with machinery installation and commissioning
- • Respond to production breakdowns when required
- • Maintain accurate and safe maintenance practices
- • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
