Job description
We’re looking for a capable Poultry Farm Manager to take ownership of a commercial broiler operation in New South Wales. This opportunity is built around verified skills and genuine industry experience. We’re interested in professionals who can demonstrate their ability to manage poultry production, lead people and maintain high standards across a busy farming operation. You may already be managing a poultry farm, or you may be an experienced 2IC who has developed the practical knowledge and leadership skills needed to step into Farm Manager responsibilities. Your experience will be considered as part of the candidate assessment process. In the role, you’ll have responsibility for flock performance, staff leadership, shed conditions, biosecurity, equipment and production outcomes. You’ll also have access to an established support network, so you can focus on running the farm without being expected to manage everything alone.
Requirements
- • Take responsibility for the overall performance of the broiler farm
- • Manage flock production from placement through to pick-up
- • Lead, supervise, train and develop farm employees
- • Organise staff rosters and daily work requirements
- • Monitor bird health, welfare, feed, water and growth
- • Manage ventilation, temperature and shed environmental conditions
- • Review production performance and implement improvements
- • Coordinate shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround activities
- • Maintain high biosecurity and hygiene standards
- • Ensure animal welfare procedures are followed
- • Maintain workplace health and safety standards
- • Coordinate servicing and repairs of farm machinery and equipment
- • Monitor feed lines, drinkers, ventilation systems and generators
- • Maintain accurate production, livestock and maintenance records
- • Use farm management systems to monitor and report performance
- • Communicate with veterinarians, field officers and technical specialists
- • Provide regular operational updates to senior management
- • Identify risks and operational issues before they affect production
- • Support continuous improvement and best-practice farming procedures
- • Participate in after-hours and on-call duties as required
