Key responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders
  • Communicate customer requirements clearly with kitchen and bar teams
  • Manage allocated tables and sections efficiently
  • Coordinate service across multiple sittings
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally
  • Assist with food and beverage running during busy periods
  • Carry and serve three plates safely and confidently
  • Set tables and prepare dining areas before service
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently between customers
  • Operate computerised POS systems for orders and payments
  • Assist customers with menu and beverage selections
  • Provide appropriate wine and beverage recommendations where required
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of dining areas
  • Work closely with kitchen, bar and front-of-house teams
  • Respond to customer requests in a professional manner
  • Assist in resolving service issues appropriately
  • Follow RSA, hygiene, safety and workplace procedures
  • Contribute to a positive, professional and team-focused workplace

Requirements

  • Previous experience as restaurant waitstaff, food runner or food and beverage attendant
  • Relevant hospitality qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a busy restaurant environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to manage multiple tables and sittings efficiently
  • Ability to safely carry three plates
  • Current RSA Certificate
  • Experience using computerised POS systems
  • Wine knowledge is advantageous but not essential
  • Professional presentation and grooming
  • Reliable, honest and well-spoken
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Flexible availability across days, evenings and weekends
  • Strong teamwork and willingness to support other hospitality staff
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of service
  • Overseas applicants with suitable hospitality experience may be considered for sponsorship, subject to eligibility and applicable requirements
