Job description
A verified engineering and metal fabrication opportunity is now available in Australia for an experienced Fitter & CNC Machine Operator. Our client is seeking a reliable and capable workshop professional who can contribute across CNC machining, fitting, fabrication, assembly and job preparation. You will be trusted to work from engineering drawings, understand production requirements and help ensure fabricated components are completed accurately and ready for installation. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys practical responsibility and can manage work independently rather than being limited to one machine or task. The successful candidate should be available to commence immediately or within a short notice period.
Requirements
- • Study and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- • Plan fabrication and assembly work according to job requirements
- • Operate CNC and general workshop machinery
- • Complete fitting and assembly work accurately
- • Carry out required fabrication tasks
- • Perform basic MIG and TIG welding
- • Measure and inspect work throughout the production process
- • Check completed items against drawings before release
- • Prepare materials and fabricated components for installation
- • Organise workshop jobs and daily priorities
- • Ensure installation teams receive the correct prepared items
- • Maintain workshop machinery, tools and equipment
- • Identify production or drawing issues early
- • Resolve or report technical problems appropriately
- • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- • Work closely with workshop and installation teams
- • Assist with site installation and fitting work when required
